United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men meet on the first Monday of every month. Meetings begin at 6:00p with a home cooked meal followed by a devotional. A brief business meeting follows the devotional.

The 2016 United Methodist Men's goals are as follows:

1. Engage daily in Bible study and prayer.
2. Bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions.
3. Be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ.
4. Engage in some definite Christian service.
5. Each member will make a concerted effort to invite new men to join our ranks, as it is deemed imperative to grow our membership.

The main Christian service project that the Methodist Men support each year is "Coats and Shoes" for the less fortunate students in our surrounding schools. This project started many years ago to help the less fortunate students of Vandalia Schools. It has grown over the years, and in 2015 the United Methodist Men served nearly 300 students in all Fayette County School Districts and Mulberry Grove. The annual United Methodist Men Fish Dinner held in November is the main funding source for the Coats and Shoes.

In addition, the United Methodist Men support many other worthwhile causes such as sponsoring a local Boy Scout Troop, Operation Christmas Child, new building project, local food bank, etc. In March of each year, the United Methodist Men hold a Pancake and Sausage Dinner to help support these other worthwhile projects/needs.

United Methodist Men strive to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality and to seek daily his will. The United Methodist Men's intent is to grow as Christians and be a supportive fellowship of men.
