Day 21: Today

vandaliafumc

Thank You, God, for Today

Today doesn’t come with a flashy title or a defining moment, and maybe that’s exactly where I find myself—a place of quiet gratitude. I am grateful. I should be able to list many things, but right now, I can’t seem to pinpoint just one to reflect on. At first, this unsettled me, but then I realized that we all find ourselves here at some point. We all have things to be grateful for, and maybe it’s these moments of intangible gratitude that matter most.

So, let me speak about gratitude as it relates to today. There’s no grand event to celebrate, yet there’s also nothing weighing me down. And that in itself is a gift. Thank You, God, for a day that simply is—a day that feels steady, peaceful, and okay. That’s no small thing. It’s a quiet blessing, one I don’t want to overlook.

Isn’t there a deep joy in having an incredibly ordinary day? A day where I feel safe enough, seen enough, comfortable enough, good enough. A day that doesn’t demand more of me than I can give. That is a grace all its own. Ordinary is exceptional.

Thank You, God, for today.

Where do you find gratitude in the ordinary?
